TENNESSEE MISSION GROUP COMES TO GALAPAGOS

In 2007 a Mission Group from Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, USA came to the Galapagos for a week.  During their time here they worked at Delia Ibarra Elementary School painting the basketball court, making a Ping-Pong table, painting soccer goals, and helping Ryan Dawes, a GICE English as a Second Language volunteer, in his classroom reading books to the students.  During their stay they also helped students plant endemic and native plants.  Paul Gunn, their fearless leader, is planning on returning to help the school in July 2008.  Most of their funding was from individual donations.  But their biggest donor was Mount Juliet Christian Academy.  The students at the Elementary School had a penny war and raised more than $3600, which was donated to Galapagos with equipment and money.  Feel free to contact Paul at anytime if you are interested in brining a group to the Galapagos.  His contact information is on Contact Us.

See Delia Ibarra Gallery for more pictures of the group.
